I want to share a dream I had a few weeks ago. I was in the house I grew up in. I went to the backyard and noticed a handful of lions laying around on the mountainside. My immediate reaction was to turn around and run but instead, I stood there watching them in amazement. After a few seconds, I quietly walked back into the house. Although they didn’t pose a threat, I moved a heavy dresser against the door to make sure they couldn’t get in the house and ran to warn the rest of the family (I noticed panic/fear set in).
Animals are sacred gifts to humanity, helping us heal to become our highest version of ourselves.
Our animal companions have shown us to trust, to have compassion but the most vital thing we’re learning today from them is to surrender. Surrendering is merely accepting what is. It is connecting with our inner self.
“You will never lose your way for God leads you.”
When we surrender to God, we surrender to something bigger than ourselves – to a universe that knows what it’s doing. When we stop trying to control events, they fall into a natural order, an order that works. We’re at rest while a power much greater than our own takes over, and it does a much better job than we could have done. We learn to trust that the power that holds galaxies together can handle the circumstances of our relatively little lives.
