You are the seed in the earth, and as the sun shines upon you and the rain falls, your seed begins to grow, and you send your roots deep into the ground to hold you, support you, and nourish you.
Unless it is eternal it is not the Truth
But a passing thought,
Unless it’s beautiful it is not the Truth
But an emotion formed in fear and ignorance,
Unless it lives, inspires and gives life
It is not the Truth but a falsehood and a dream,
In the poem, The Guest House, Rumi is using the metaphor of a guest house to form an image that each day is an opportunity to experience something new in our lives, even if it’s unexpected.
