I Need Sleep – Poem

'The bad news is you're to be executed at dawn. The good news is your executioner is not a morning person.'
Credit Artist: Jeff Stahler

To escape the demands and pressures of the day
I decide to close my eyes and lay down to bed
Yet thoughts of the day creeps inside my head.
The voices are getting louder and louder
Mocking, whispering – oh what dread!
Yet even still, the thoughts could not be drowned,
That old broken record player scratching sound.
I tell myself
“focus on what matters most
stop stressing and clear your mind
and leave the worry behind.”
